Ravenea xerophila has an incredibly slow growth rate, so much so that its overall height at maturity can only be estimated at a maximum of 14' OA. It is pinnate with a slender trunk around 8-10" in caliper and blue-green vertical leaves. It has a unique root system that most closely resembles that of a cycad or succulent- a dense network of highly delicate roots.
Requirements Preferring a well-drained soil, this palm does not like "wet feet". It has excellent heat and drought tolerance however and can withstand cold snaps down to the low/mid 20's Fahrenheit. It grows best in full sun.
