Also known as the Buriti Palm, this slow growing and highly adaptive palm tree produces highly valued cosmetic and medicinal oils from its fruits. Buriti oil has been used for many years to moisturize and protect skin barriers from UV rays and free radicals. Its fruit is considered a superfood and has a creamy, sweet flavor and orange hue. It can reach heights of over 60' in optimal habitat and is happiest in Cold Hardiness Zones 11-12.

Requirements Highly flood tolerant, this palm prefers swampy, acidic soils and can withstand any number of soil compositions. It will mature best in filtered light but will take full sun once established.
