Encephalartos lebomboensis

Named for its origin in the Lebombo Mountains of Swaziland, this cycad, like most, will take centuries to reach its full height and maturity. It is distinguishable by thick, glossy, deep green leaflets that are covered in sharp spines. Its cones are typically a bright red/orange during its reproductive cycle.

Requirements This cycad prefers full sun and very well-draining soils. Its many suckers are easily transplanted and it is relatively cold tolerant and does not need to be watered often.
