Dichtyosperma album

Given its name due to significant wind tolerance, Dichytosperma album claims three subspecies with a wide range of habitats throughout the Mascarene archipelago. They are pinnate with vertical center spears and a max height to no more than 30 feet in habitat. The growth rate of these palms in incredibly fast, allowing it to recover from wind or frost damage speedily.

Requirements These palms can grow in a wide range of altitudes and thrive best in full sun with a high salt tolerance. Though susceptible to frost damage, a cold snap below freezing may lead to defoliation but most will survive regardless.
