Coccothrinax moaensis

Originally considered synonymous with Coccothrinax miraguama, this palm is native to the Moa region of southeast Cuba. Its palmate, divided leaflets create a circular, pinwheel shaped leaf. Its slender trunk is covered in a mesh of fibers, adding to the ornamental quality of the palm.

Requirements A well drained soil is ideal for this palm. It will grow in a variety of soil types but does not need a rich soil to thrive. Partial sun is best before it is mature, but once established prefers full, direct sunlight.
