Timor black was originally a member of the genus Gigantochloa- though was reclassified to the genus Bambusa a number of years ago. It is non-invasive, clumping, and has a waxy outer layer which compliments the deep black that shoots of this bamboo take on with age. It is fast growing and can reach heights of over 60 feet.

Requirements This bamboo is extremely cold sensitive and should be protected from frost. It will grow in full sun to partial shade.
