Description:
Synonym is Caryota gigas. Solitary, bi-pinnate palm. Trunks to 2+ feet thick and stiff triangular leaves deep green. Height to 60+ feet with 20-30 foot spread. A massive handsome palm.

Requirements:
Grows well in acidic to slightly alkaline wet soils. Growth rate medium to fast. Can tolerate brief cold dips to just under freezing. Has a slight cold tolerance.

Country Of Origin:
Southern China, Laos, and Thailand
